Made a slightly cleaner layout. The whole white-on-black thing still bothers me though, so I might make yet another new layout later. As for writing, I haven't made much headway into chapter 1 since I've been busy, what with the end of the quarter, finals, and sleep debt. Plus I can't seem to write anything I like lately. Boo.

At LONG last, the new Prologue is posted. It does not connect with the version of chapter 1 that's up right now... Yeah, I'll get on that eventually...
The Characters page has been updated for the new Prologue.
The Inspirations page has also been updated!

I've been working on a new prologue for the last month or two (whoops), and it's in final editing stages right now. No promises on consistent updating though.
Friday, September 28, 2007 Grrrr...
I've outlined the beginning of the story and the end of the story. Now I'm stuck with that all-important middle. So, instead of writing, I've been doing some sketches of characters, as well as fleshing out their profiles. School has started again, but past experience tells me I'll write more now than usual. It's an inverse function: k=xy where k is a constant, x = free time, and y = writing done. The more free time I have, the less writing done. 'Tis a shame.
Sketches will be uploaded when I have access to a scanner.

Hellooo Chapter 1. And so the story begins! Each time I update the chapter (edits, etc.) I add a date and time stamp at the bottom of the chapter's page. The chapter also includes a link to download the .doc file, which is protected against edits except comments (using the "Reviewing" toolbar in Microsoft Word). Just for the record, Eric DID NOT HELP AT ALL *angry eyes* and instead Risa gave the go-ahead.
Soon to come: a sketch based on part of chapter 1.

Finished editing Chapter 1! Now I'm sending it to Eric, who will hopefully give me useful advice, then it'll be up here AT LAST. So starting now, the update's arrival depends on Eric. Now isn't that a scary thought?
And now I must sleep because it's good for me.
Friday, August 31, 2007 Chapter 1 in editing
Finished Chapter 1 about an hour ago, but now it's time to fix all the shoddy wording in the beginning when I was writing despite writer's block. I'm not sure how that works. Once editing is done, I'll probably send it over to Eric, depending on whether or not I like it, then it'll be posted up here. Estimated time of arrival... two days. We'll see.
I realized late last night that this layout makes it look like I was holding up a candle stand and trying to commit arson on the Notre Dame. Arson... on? Or is it against? Who knows.
Thursday, August 30, 2007 Site Launch
Welcome to the home of The Jade League! The "About" and "Characters" pages are up, but "Inspirations" and "Sketches" are still under construction. Sorry to everyone in 1024 x 768 screen resolution; I forgot that my new laptop isn't at that size, so there might be some side scrolling going on. I'm working on that tonight.
Chapter 1 is currently in progress, but I'm guessing it's only about halfway done, plus I need to do some heavy revision on the early sections. I like it a lot better than the original chapter 1 (the one currently on Fictionpress), and it outstrips the experimental prologue by several miles.
In any case, I have to do some stuff I neglected all afternoon now. I only launched a day late, right?
